Foscoe Auto Rentals – Terms and Conditions

Age Requirements

Standard renters must be over the age of 25. Drivers aged 21–24 may rent with proof of personal full-coverage insurance (collision deductible $500 or less) or by purchasing Renters Collision Protection (RCP).
RCP covers up to $20,000 for damage due to collision, vandalism, fire, windstorm, or hail, with a $250 deductible. Ask for full terms and exclusions.

Driver’s License

A valid U.S. driver’s license is required. The rental period may not extend past the license expiration date.
Foreign drivers must present an international driver’s license along with a valid license from their home country.

Payment

Rentals must be paid with a major credit card in the primary renter’s name (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, AmEx).
Debit cards must be bank-issued and linked to a checking account. No prepaid, internet-only, or virtual cards.

Deposit Requirements

Standard deposit = total expected rental cost + $100 to $200 depending on vehicle type and rental history.

Rental Duration & Mileage Limits

Unless otherwise agreed, rentals include up to 200 miles per day. Additional mileage is charged at $0.25 – $0.30/mile.

Cancellation & No-Show Policy

Cancellations must be made at least 48 hours in advance for a full refund.
No-shows or cancellations within 48 hours may result in forfeiture of deposit.

Extensions

A 1-hour grace period is allowed. Additional time must be pre-approved and may incur extra charges.

Pick-Up

Pick-up is only available at our location:
8931 NC Highway 105 S, Boone, NC 28607
After-hours pickup is not available unless pre-arranged. Sunday pickups are by prior arrangement only.

Drop-Off

After-hours drop-off must be pre-arranged. The renter remains responsible for the vehicle until keys are returned and the agreement is closed by a representative of Foscoe Auto Rentals.
Please return vehicles in safe and clean condition.

Additional Drivers / Underage Drivers

$10/day per additional driver. All additional drivers must be present with valid licenses at rental time.
Drivers aged 21–24 incur a $15/day underage fee and must have transferable full-coverage insurance.

Destinations / Geographic Limits

Rental use is limited to a 600-mile radius. For longer trips, contact us for special vehicle arrangements.

Insurance Requirements

All renters must have active liability insurance that extends to rental vehicles.
RCP is available if you lack coverage.
Commercial, corporate, or church rentals require proof of commercial coverage (Certificate of Insurance / ACORD form).

Prohibited Uses

Vehicles may not be used for:

·         Racing, off-roading, towing, or transporting illegal goods

·         Use for commercial purposes 

·         Use for delivery of goods or people (rideshare, taxi).

·         Driving under the influence of drugs/alcohol

·         By unauthorized drivers not listed on the agreement
Violations will void coverage and result in full financial responsibility for damages.

Roadside Assistance

Roadside assistance is included with all rentals.

Fuel Policy

Return the vehicle with the same fuel level as noted at pick-up. Refueling below this level will incur a charge at a premium per-gallon rate over the current cost.

Equipment

We do not provide car seats, GPS units, or other accessories. Please bring your own.

One-Way Rentals / Dropped Vehicles

One-way rentals are not permitted. Vehicles dropped anywhere other than our office will incur a minimum $250 recovery fee, plus mileage and loss-of-use fees.

Tolls, Fees, & Violations

Renter is responsible for all tolls, tickets, and violations.
Tolls paid by Foscoe Auto Rentals will be charged back to the renter with a $5 administrative fee per occurrence.
All citations are subject to an administrative handling fee.

Additional Fees

·         Cleaning Fee: $35–$150 if vehicle is returned excessively dirty

·         Smoking Fee: $200 if smoking is detected in the vehicle

·         Lost Key Replacement: Fee based on key type and programming costs

·         Pet Fee: If pets cause damage or additional cleaning to the vehicle, this will result in additional charges.  

GPS Tracking & Privacy

Vehicles are equipped with GPS tracking for:

·         Roadside assistance

·         Safety & security

·         Theft recovery
Tracking is for internal use only and is never sold or shared. Some vehicles may also include OnStar services.

Vehicle Condition / Pre-Rental Inspection

Both renter and agent will inspect and document vehicle condition before and after rental. Any new damage will be the renter’s responsibility unless covered by insurance or RCP.

Accidents / Reporting

All accidents must be reported to local law enforcement, and a police report must be obtained—regardless of fault. Notify Foscoe Auto Rentals immediately.

Modifications to Terms

Foscoe Auto Rentals reserves the right to modify these terms at any time. Updated terms will be posted and apply to future rentals.

Weather or Emergency Conditions

We reserve the right to delay or cancel rentals during extreme weather or natural disasters to ensure safety.
